Media and Policy — Rhee continued

We talked a bit last night about the role of the news media in the formation and circulation of policy discourses, and talked about Rhee’s appearance on Stewart — how do we connect texts like Rhee’s book, her talk show appearances, Stewart’s own comments and questions — to questions of policy?  There was some talk, too, about the lack of attention to educational issues in the news, so I thought I’d post this link to Valerie Strauss’s post on Stewart-Rhee at the Washington Post blog, “The Answer Sheet” — which is well worth checking out regularly.  Michael Winerip at the New York Times has done excellent articles as well, including this one in 2011 on Rhee — “Eager for Spotlight, But Not in Cheating Scandel” See also Diane Ravich’s take on this as well as her link to a broader analysis of Rhee –
